ROAST: Light

Our first Ethiopian release of the year comes from the Hambela Wamena District in the Guji Zone. This washed coffee is made up of heirloom varietals that showcases the distinct and bright Guji profile. As is typical in Ethiopia, this coffee is produced by smallholder farms, many of which grow their coffee on just a few hectares. These producers entrust their harvests to local washing stations, such as Dame Dabaye, to process and export their coffee. The Dame Dabaye Washing Station is owned by Sibu Trading, a group that has worked extensively with Guji farmers to establish washing stations across the region since their operations began over twenty years ago. Throughout this time, they’ve partnered with importers and roasters worldwide to share these incredible coffees. This year’s release presents bright notes of citrus and lemon zest, black tea, and delicate honeysuckle and jasmine florality.
