From the roaster

A fairly surprising coffee for me. I found this to have the punchy ness of an aerobic without the ultra funk - so mild funk. I found it to be incredibly fruit forward not so unlike an ethiopia natural and lacking the tea like elements. There's chocolates here to be sure so give this a whirl as espresso.

Context

The El Salvador Finca San Luis Dry Process, roasted by Royal Mile Coffee, represents a classic expression of the region’s potential when paired with traditional preparation techniques. As a dry-processed coffee, this lot undergoes a method where the fruit remains intact during drying, a practice that often imparts a distinct, heavy body and pronounced sweetness to the final cup. Generally, processing methods like this are utilized to encourage the development of complex, fruit-forward profiles that balance well against deeper, cocoa-like undertones.

In the case of this specific offering, the roaster highlights a profile defined by fruit-forward characteristics and chocolates. For those looking to better articulate these nuances, consulting a flavor wheel can be an excellent way to categorize the specific fruit and cocoa descriptors found in the cup. This coffee serves as a compelling example of how Finca San Luis leverages the dry process to create a rich, approachable experience for the drinker.
