GITUTU — KENYA

Washed · SL28, SL34, BATIAN, RUIRU 11

A big bright and juicy treat from the Aguthi Farmers Cooperative Society. This coffee was produced at one of their four factories, Gitutu. 800 farmers from the F.C.S deliver to this factory, with each farmer having, on average, 300 trees.

The Aguthi F.C.S is located in Kiambu, the highest producing region in Kenya. High rainfalls and cool temperatures in the highlands are one of the driving forces behind the success of the region. That and the diversity of soil types, rich volcanic soils in the uplands, where the bulk of the coffee is produced, contribute to the classic juicy, heavy hitting Kenyan coffee we all love.

It ticks all the Kenyan boxes, dark fruits and bold citrus followed up by pleasant floral notes… Bright and clean, what’s not to like?
