From the roaster

High up above Cañón de las Hermosas in Tolima lies a farm so remote that electricity and running water are difficult to come by. It is on this high-altitude farm that we have discovered a lot that produces a Tipica coffee which has the same distinctive red fruit tartness we have come to know as Red Barrel.

With deeply acidic notes of cranberry, pomegranate, blackberry and a distinct lemongrass note, our Red Barrel has become a favorite pour-over and one of our most sought after single-estates.

Devoción

Context

Devoción sources this washed coffee from Tolima, Colombia, where the Castillo and Colombia varietals thrive at 1800 meters elevation. The washed processing method emphasizes clarity and brightness, characteristics evident in the cup's tart red fruit profile—pomegranate and cranberry notes carry through to deeper blackberry, finished with subtle lemongrass aromatics. This combination of acid-forward berry and herbal notes is typical of well-executed washed lots from this region.
