From the roaster
Our Plot is the result of five years working with Daterra to explore the potential of Aramosa coffee. This season, a Black Honey lot stood out for its abundant sweetness and aromatic fruit. Cherry and blueberry combine with syrupy cola notes, before oolong tea and vanilla emerge in a smooth, creamy finish. A distinctive expression of Brazilian specialty coffee.

Context
Produced by Daterra in Brazil, Our Plot Daterra represents a unique intersection of innovative cultivation and meticulous post-harvest handling. This lot features the Aramosa varietal, a rare hybrid that is often noted for its distinct profile compared to more common Arabica cultivars. By utilizing the Black Honey method, the producers allow a significant portion of the fruit mucilage to remain on the bean during drying, which typically encourages a denser, more complex sweetness.
Roasted by The Barn, this coffee presents a vibrant sensory experience characterized by notes of cherry, blueberry, and syrupy cola, balanced by delicate hints of oolong tea and vanilla. When evaluating such nuanced profiles, enthusiasts often refer to the flavor wheel to better identify the interplay between these fruit-forward and tea-like qualities. This selection highlights the potential of specialized processing techniques to elevate the inherent characteristics of unique Brazilian varietals.
