Storage & Shelf Life:

Ingredients & Method:

We source exceptional coffee from Daterra in Brazil, whose groundbreaking approach is at the forefront of sustainable coffee farming. The coffee is smooth and sweet, with notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut and marzipan.

We don’t cold brew our coffee, but instead use an innovative flash-brewing technique. First, we brew the coffee with hot water, then we flash-chill it to extract and lock in the flavours and delicate aromas that you’d expect from fresh espresso.

As coffee experts, we believe that hot water is required to deliver a perfectly balanced, complex brew. Hot water dissolves more of the coffee's volatile compounds, thus extracting both the acidic and bitter notes of the coffee, as well as sweetness. In comparison, cold coffee extraction (cold brew) mainly focuses on the sweet and can lose the full, rounded flavour of the coffee.

Context

Produced by Daterra in Brazil, this Coffee Concentrate 1L offers a streamlined approach to specialty brewing. Roasted by Climpson & Sons, the profile is anchored in classic, comforting tones of dark chocolate, hazelnut, and marzipan. While single-origin coffees from this region are often celebrated for their nutty sweetness and balanced acidity, this concentrate format is designed for efficiency without sacrificing the depth of the original harvest.

When evaluating the nuances of such a profile, it is helpful to reference the flavor wheel to identify the specific characteristics that define your cup. Generally, coffees processed in this style aim to provide a consistent, full-bodied experience that works well across a variety of applications, from iced beverages to quick-prep hot drinks. By focusing on these foundational flavor pillars, the roaster ensures a reliable and approachable cup that highlights the traditional qualities associated with high-quality Brazilian production.
