History

We have been working with this coffee since 2019 and we are so happy to have it back!

From the highlands of Gedeb, Ethiopia, this coffee comes from hundreds of smallholder farmers growing heirloom varieties with exceptional care. Now in our seventh year working with Chelchele, we continue to value their outstanding quality and consistency. Carefully washed and slowly dried at 2,000 meters above sea level, it delivers vibrant sweetness, elegant florals, and lively citrus notes. Every cup reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, traceability, and Ethiopia’s rich coffee heritage.

The Chelchele Washed, sourced by Prolog Coffee, originates from the Gedeo zone in Gedeb, a region renowned for its distinct contributions to the Ethiopia · Gedeo, Gedeb profile. This lot is composed of Heirloom varietals grown at elevations between 1900 and 2100 masl. By utilizing a washed processing method, the Chelchele processing site emphasizes the inherent clarity and brightness of the cherry.

In the cup, this coffee presents a delicate interplay of peach, jasmine, and lemon zest.
