He vastaavat kahvimarjojen vastaanotosta, lajittelusta, kuivatuksesta ja valmistelusta kunkin erän käsittelyvaatimusten mukaisesti.

This coffee comes from Banko Chelchele village in Southern Ethiopia, where smallholder farmers rely on coffee as an important part of local agriculture and household income. Farming traditions are closely connected to local knowledge, family practices, and community-based harvesting. During the October–December harvest season, cherries are hand-picked with careful attention to ripeness and quality.

The coffee is grown in fertile, well-drained red clay soil, well suited to coffee production.

The Super Natural process involves 36–48 hours of fermentation in water, followed by 27–30 days of drying on raised tables with the skins intact—around twice the length of a typical natural process. This extended fermentation slows the drying process and allows gradual chemical changes within the beans. In sweet, floral varieties like this one, the result is an extraordinary combination of dried fruit and winey flavors.

The Banko Chelchele processing site employs more than 210 workers throughout the season, handling the receiving, sorting, drying, and preparation of coffee cherries according to each lot’s processing requirements. The operation also maintains a close relationship with local farmers, providing financial support, subcontracting opportunities, and premium payments.

After primary processing, final processing and cleaning are completed at a subcontracted processing and warehouse facility in Addis Ababa.
