From the roaster

A late season arrival of an Ethiopia Dry Process. Enjoy these prices before the new crop arrives and everything goes up a dollar into ethiopia specific pricing.

Fruit bomb type, blueberry is what I get. A bit candied and less like a "coffee".  It's the coffee you'll like, I don't even need to write anything.

A limited amount as we kept a bunch for the cafe so there's basically only one stocking of this. There's more ethiopians on the horizon - don't worry. Just higher cost.

Context

The Ethiopia Raro Boda, sourced by Royal Mile Coffee, represents the distinct profile often associated with the Ethiopia Sidamo region. This specific lot undergoes a dry process, a technique where the coffee cherry is dried intact around the seed. Generally, processing methods like this allow the bean to absorb sugars and fruit compounds from the surrounding fruit pulp during dehydration, which often results in a heavier body and pronounced fruit-forward characteristics.

In the case of this Raro Boda, the roaster highlights a clear blueberry note, a classic descriptor frequently found when navigating the flavor wheel for high-quality Ethiopian coffees. By utilizing the dry process, the producer emphasizes the inherent sweetness of the harvest, creating a cup that showcases the traditional, vibrant profile expected from this renowned origin. This selection serves as a focused example of how regional terroir and careful post-harvest handling define the final sensory experience in the cup.
