Maude Coffee

Context

This natural-process coffee from Maude Coffee originates in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains, where producer Agri Evolv cultivates SL14 and SL28 varietals at 1700 masl. The natural processing method allows fruit-forward character to develop, evident in the roaster's tasting profile of strawberry alongside floral and almond-like notes. SL28 and SL14 are heirloom varietals prized for their complexity and have long been associated with nuanced, layered flavor expression. The combination of these heritage cultivars with natural processing typically yields wines or fruit-driven profiles; here, marzipan and rose notes add an aromatic, almost confectionery dimension. Use the flavor wheel to further explore how these descriptors map to your own tasting experience.
