Suke Quto Farm sits high in the Guji region of southern Ethiopia, where coffee grows between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level. The farm is managed by Tesfaye Bekele, who works with local outgrowers alongside his own coffee land.

The farm’s fertile volcanic soils are carefully maintained through organic recycling, using leaf litter and natural plant matter from the coffee and shade trees. This helps create a healthy environment for the coffee to thrive.

For this Natural lot, ripe coffee cherries are selectively picked and dried slowly on raised beds for 9–15 days. The extended drying process allows the fruit to develop naturally around the coffee seed, creating a cup with a lively, fruit-forward character and layered sweetness.

Suke Quto Natural reflects the distinctive character of Guji: bright, aromatic and expressive, with a clean structure and lingering sweetness. It is a coffee that showcases both the quality of its high-altitude growing environment and the careful work behind every harvest.

Context

Sourced from the Guji region of Ethiopia, this Suke Quto lot is produced by Tesfaye Bekele. The coffee features the Welicho varietal, grown at elevations between 1850 and 2200 meters above sea level. As a natural-processed coffee, this selection undergoes a processing method where the cherry remains intact during drying, a technique often associated with a heavier body and pronounced fruit-forward characteristics.

Offered by PPP Coffee, this specific lot presents a profile defined by blueberry, peach, and floral notes. When evaluating such distinct flavor profiles, enthusiasts often consult a flavor wheel to better identify the nuances between stone fruit and delicate aromatics. While natural-processed coffees from this region are frequently celebrated for their vibrant sweetness and complexity, this particular offering highlights the unique terroir of Guji through the lens of the Welicho varietal.
