Press Coffee Roasters was founded in 2008 by Steve Kraus and his wife Tram Mai, who launched their specialty coffee shop just months before the 2008 recession after being unable to find the quality of coffee they sought elsewhere. Over 17 years, the company grew to 19 locations across the Phoenix metro area—including Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert—earning national recognition and becoming regarded as an Arizona staple for specialty coffee enthusiasts. Press roasts its coffee fresh in-house every day, emphasizing small-batch production and sourcing high-quality beans. The roastery's flagship location is situated in the heart of Phoenix. Beyond coffee, Press Coffee maintains a strong community focus, donating 100% of profits on its annual Day of Giving to a local nonprofit, and offering $1 drip coffee at grand openings with all proceeds benefiting local charities. Together, these efforts have raised over $200,000. The company also ships specialty coffee worldwide through its online store.
